Digital Lead, Ecommerce Manager Various I have been employed in several freelance Digital Consultancy roles, covering a variety of disciplines. I have carried out various freelance roles, covering ecommerce consultancy, pay per click management and article writing.
I have managed high value PPC accounts and I have developed the online strategy for a small health food and supplement business. In addition, I have written several articles covering fashion, food, dating, health and technology.
I have worked as a Digital Consultant for a fashion business, managing the technical aspects of their retail operation. I was employed to help iron out the issues they had with their ecommerce website and this involved working with Magento, Sage, Storefeeder, PHP programming and MS Access/Excel.
The emphasis of my role was to be a problem solver as they had several historical issues which had never been addressed.

Castleton Technology PlcAugust 2018 - October 2018
Castleton Technology creates PC, Android and IOS software which manages the housing stock of social housing companies.
I was a software support engineer acting as an intermediary between second line and third line support teams. I created solutions to user problems which require programming knowledge and so are too complicated for second line support. I also collated all the information available regarding the various software systems.
The aim of this was to create a more efficient support system where all information was in one, easily accessible and searchable location.
In addition, I mentored the second line support staff by teaching them new methods of analysis and fault finding based on my programming and analytical experience.
I was a member of the senior management team within a growing omni- channel business specialising in hand and power tools, strategizing and managing the team which deals with all aspects of the digital and ecommerce environment, including marketing, customer service, fulfilment and IT infrastructure. We sold in both B2C and B2B environments using a variety of channels including website, eBay, Amazon, bricks `n' mortar store and trade shows.
I have project managed the implementation of a new business management, stock control, warehouse management and order management system called OrderWise. The system integrates with all channels and gives a 360-degree view of customers. I managed the integration with Amazon, eBay, POS and website, ensuring the integrity of the data and liaising between internal departments and external agencies ensuring development work is carried out.
On an ongoing basis I was responsible for the training of all staff including marketing, senior management, warehouse, picking, despatch and shop staff with regards to the OrderWise system, as well as ensuring hardware and software was maintained and kept up to date. I was the go to person for all things involving OrderWise, dealing with problems as they arose, providing a solution and managing the implementation of that solution.
Hinckley I worked as a Digital Lead/Digital Consultant on a contract basis where I was project managing both the implementation and the development of their online and e-commerce strategies for their contract work along with the wholesale (B2B) and retail (B2C) aspects of the business.
This role required deep technical knowledge as the strategies being implemented are covering all aspects of marketing including acquisition, conversion and retention, utilising website design, website UX, SEO, PPC, social media, email, a/b testing, content marketing and affiliates.
I also implemented back end process changes to create a more efficient online and offline structure which will in turn increase overall ROI.
The new processes create a seamless system from the moment a product is ordered from the supplier to the moment it leaves the company warehouse for delivery to the customer.
I worked with various technologies including Magento, Sage, MS Office and warehouse management systems along with combining these with the systems of eBay, Amazon and other third party channels.
For 14 years, I was responsible for the management of an ecommerce company.
There were several websites running, all of which were managed by myself, six staff and external agencies. I was directly responsible for staff, freelancer and agency management.

My key areas of responsibility were:
* Multiple website management - the company ran six transactional sites and six content sites, all of which were under my management.
* Developing the code for the website - the system we used (VPASP) was open source which meant we had full access to the ASP code, enabling us to make important strategic changes to the site on a code level.
* Integrated marketing strategy development - developing and managing the ecommerce strategy, mixing online and offline marketing together with technical advances to increase business strength.
* SEO of the sites - this included on-site and off-site optimisation.
* Split-testing and multivariate testing Some of our greatest successes included reducing shopping cart abandonment by 50% and reducing bounce rate of the home page by 30%.
* PPC - organising and launching all pay per click campaigns, including Google Shopping. this was using a mixture of external agencies and in-house, with an average monthly spend of £ 10,000 and resulted in a positive ROI with Google Shopping reducing the cost per sale by 80%.
* Multi-channel management
* Affiliate management
* Google Analytics analysis
* Product management of over 30,000 SKUs
* Project management including website relocation, website re-designs, website architecture changes and premises relocation.
