As a Customer IT, represents "the face" of the Site IT department before internal and external customers.

For big projects (implementation projects, process improvements, etc.) acts in the role of the IT Project Manager, aiming in the delivery of (but not limited to) software solutions and improvements, by leading and coordinating internal resources as well as with third party vendors when applicable, giving advice and collaborating among cross-functional teams (CFT's), managing budget and time constraints and establishing communications accordingly, in order to optimize and take advantage of available IT resources; performing among several running projects for different customers at the time... needless to add that most of the time I get the dive-in with the teams "getting hands dirty" for getting things done.

Also, dealing with small projects (sub-projects) and System Change Requests under the role of the Product Owner (Agile Methodology/Scrum/Kanban), establishing priorities for user stories (requests), managing backlog, promoting continuous improvement and providing feedback to stakeholders.

In summary, a Customer IT is an IT Manager with a few indirect resources and lots of requirements... strong negotiation, communication and organizational skills are key to perform in such a fast-paced and ever-changing environment... not forgetting the relevance of technical skills and expertise.
