Within this project I was Scrum Master of Audit & Security Team as part of the Release Train 3. Our mission was to improve the security standards of the customer management platform within EON. During my time here I've facilitated a team of 14 developers, acted as a liaison for the Development Manager in terms of local staffing (Iasi), coached the Product Owner into his role and helped improve the Agile Community within ESD. I've facilitated 4 Agile basics trainings for team members within my team: - Scrum Basics - Kanban Basics - DevOps Basics - SAFe for Developers
Consultancy result: - facilitated the Audit & Security team - role modeled agile values & mindset to the team - helped the team into self-organization - helped both the team and other scrum masters remove organizational impediments My mission consisted in the delivery of 7 trainings on Agility: - DevOps and Agile (2 in Iasi, 1 in Bucharest) - 56 people in total - Agile Scrum Master (1 in Iasi, 1 in Bucharest) - 33 people in total - Leading SAFe (1 in Iasi) - 13 people - Product Ownership in Scrum (1 in Iasi) - 10 people
Training result: A total number of 112 people were trained during the process.
My mission was to refine Agile implementation in one of their main Sales BI projects. Reasons for adopting Agility: - Better customer collaboration - Higher customer satisfaction - Faster delivery High-Level Road bumps: - Increase customer involvement in product development - Provide a stable long term planning system - Structuring customer input & prioritization - Provide visibility into development status Key achievements (in chronological order): - Implemented key meetings & ritual cadence defined by Scrum framework (Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) - Achieved predictability & consistency of delivery sprint by sprint (Goal: 4/5 sprints successful) - Collaborated with management (department manager & BI director) to define clear roles & responsibilities in the team in accordance to the Scrum Guide - Collaborated with department manager to restructure customer needs input process - Collaborated with department manager to create a custom scaling strategy for the department based on LESS - Gave feedback & coached other Scrum Masters which wanted to improve their Scrum process (Strategic Committee, Several Operational Committees)
Worked with individuals from execution and management levels (including BUs executive directors) in order to align expectations and achieve product excellence. Worked with the BI director to create a "One button click" migration process which would cut migration costs up to 6 times.
Consultancy result: Implemented Scrum POC in the Global Sales Project. Advised and co-implemented the department custom Scaled Agile Approach based on LESS.
I was responsible for leading strategic change in 6 Java teams, with a total of 37 people, working in a remote context. The teams had to increase their Agile Software Delivery standards to match those of their remote counterparts. We did this by focusing on both their technical and organizational skills. On the technical side I’ve lead multiple workshops and code katas on different aspects of software design, automated software testing, pair programming, etc. On the organizational side, we organized the teams using the Scrum I was responsible for leading strategic change in 6 Java teams, with a total of 37 people, working in a remote context. On the technical side I’ve lead multiple workshops and code katas on different aspects of software design, automated software testing, pair programming, etc. On the organizational side, we organized the teams using the Scrum framework and coached several key players into their new roles. One of the main challenges of the assignment was synchronizing the strategy over 4 different locations at the same time (France, Romania, USA and Bangalore). We managed this by having weekly strategy meetings in which we communicated our progress and raised impediments to senior management. Worked with teams to ensure the quality of the Continuous Delivery targets within their proprietary Agile Transformation Model.
Coaching result: Improved Agility and Technical level (according to internal leveling standard) in all of the 6 java teams. The project was a joint venture with HHIT.
I was responsible for coaching the TEF-1 CS department of Bosh Immenstadt into reducing the delivery cycle to two months, or less. We also put in place mechanisms to improve software quality through Customer Collaboration and Agile Software Delivery Practices. The transformation involved 51 people. We managed to align and synchronize the effort of the entire department by using a department Portfolio Wall and weekly alignment sessions between team management and senior management. We delivered an extensive coaching program which included several trainings (Agile Foundations, Agile Development Practices, Agile Delivery Practices, Agile Requirements & Testing, Agile Project Management, Agile Scaling, Facilitation Skills, Manager Role Model). Worked with execution and management layers to achieve alignment (including the Immenstadt Plant Director).
Coaching Result: Started Agile initiatives in 8 teams, trained 8 internal agile coaches and started Agile Software Delivery Guild. This project was a joint venture with the Wemanity Group.
Coaching Result: Agile implementations in 23 teams, with support to several others. Achieved cross-functional teams focused on delivering specific products. Achieved less than 2 months delivery cycle. I've helped the Munich Brainforce branch create an Agile Software Factory in order to increase FINAS project intake and profitability margin. I've worked with Brainforce employees as Trainer/Coach to start Agile Project Management and Programming Practices within the FINAS department. I've facilitated “Agile Programming Practices” Trainings, “DSDM Management Foundations” Training and team coaching.
Coaching Result: Kick started several projects in working with Agile and helped with the implementation of Agile Programming Practices.
As an Agile Process Expert I’ve helped the “Johnson & Johnson” ICD (International Contracts Database) team create Kanban boards that will fit their current processes (both business and development). The main challenges they were facing were: - They needed a way to visualize their processes - They needed a way to easily see their current project status - They needed a central tool to aggregate different information We organized Kanban design workshops and several team talks in order to design & refine the boards. As a result of the process, the teams improved their process and output.
I've helped teams transition to an agile way of working (using Scrum framework). I've helped teams define their identies, become cohesive groups and apply agile techniques that fit their environment. I've individually coached team members and key players into their new roles (scrum masters, product owners, various types of managers). Also (co)facilitated various workshops and trainings to help people get to the same understanding and principles: Agile Introduction Training, Agile XP Training, Responsibility Process Workshop, Feedback Workshop, etc.I'm currently working as a freelancer for Belgium's biggest Telecom services supplier. The team I'm a part of maintains, enhances and redesigns a wide range of the customer applications using agile practices (TDD, pair programming, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, spikes, design sessions, domain driven design). We're using the SCRUM or Kanban methodologies as a way of organizing ourselves, depending on the context we are in. We've decided to migrate towards a Spring MVC + Freemarker + AngualrJS stack for front end applications, and a Spring JDBC + RESTEasy stack for the backend applications. As legacy technology we have spring webflow, jQuery and prototype which we are gradually refactoring out of the code. I've also become an agile steward often influencing the team into applying and keeping agile practices.
I have developed jasper report templates(using iReports), which were used in various business analysis tools. I have also applied the database release management procedure using Liquibase on one of the company's projects. I have also taken part in the development of a web application which uses as main technologies Spring, Hibernate and ICEfaces. The project's deployment environment is Weblogic. The devlopment environment is Jetty.
Java Developer I've worked as a back-end developer on a data synchronization solution server. My responsibilities consisted in code(java and jUnit) maintenance. I've worked with various types of vCard and iCalendar specifications.
I have actively taken part in the design and the development of one of Comodo livePCsupport's desktop clients. Comodo livePCsupport is a computer maintenance suite. It consists of a complex framework which includes two desktop clients, different server support and a web administration console. The project has successfully reached v1.0, v2.0 and v3.0. The module was a Swing-based application created in order to be used by technical support engineers. The application had various features including a chat system, a remote desktop facility, a plug-in system which would allow the technical support engineers to use different Comodo products. I have taken part in the design and development of the application's Swing based GUI and server communication system. I have also developed the plug-in system(using the Apache Felix Framework) and the application's plug-ins along with their XML configuration files and XSD validation schemas.
