Pentalog is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who will join the Technical Operations team of a world-renowned user-generated platform dedicated to traveling.
Our client, boasting a global network which spans over 26 countries, is on a mission to inspire and empower people to explore the world with confidence, and also share their experiences with others via the most used travel-inspired site.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, your responsibilities will revolve around the architecture, deployment, and secure operation of our client’s production environments & services. These include the on-prem data centers where thousands of physical and virtual machines are being managed, along with multiple cloud vendors where there are both directly managed environments as well as tenant environments.

Being part of the TechOps team, you will assume the role of force multiplier for the engineering & operations teams, delivering tooling & infrastructure that not only has a direct impact on day-to-day operations, but also helps contribute to the future evolution of Infrastructure & Engineering for our top client.

Job requirements

  • Experience working in a highly-available, dynamic production environment;
  • Drive for automation and removing manual process bottlenecks to increase efficiency;
  • Practical experience with containerization and orchestration;
  • Previous experience with configuration management;
  • Experience with virtual machine management;
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python;
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals;
  • Very good communication and English language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build out orchestration server orchestration with puppet/ansible for the server fleet;
  • Help investigate issues alongside the broader engineering team;
  • Help build out proper monitoring with icinga2 for server environment;
  • Work with the other systems engineers to remotely triage physical server issues;
  • Further build out the automation and orchestration safeguards.
     

Extra skills

Experience working with BigIP, Dell Servers physical hardware would come in handy.
