We are seeking a talented and dedicated Mainframe Support Production Engineer to join the Operations department and be part of the newly established Production Support team specialized in mainframe support. As a Mainframe Support Production Engineer, you will work closely with the dedicated OPS teams in Paris and build strong relationships with business line teams.

Your mission will be to execute various actions based on defined procedures and processes, ensuring smooth mainframe operations and supporting global processes. Working in accordance with the ITIL methodology is fundamental to the daily operations across all areas.

This role requires a willingness and availability for on-site (hybrid mode) work as needed and providing on-call support when required from the Bucharest office.
 

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role;
  • In-depth knowledge of Mainframe Z technology;
  • Strong understanding of general IT infrastructure;
  • Experience and expertise in CA7/OPC, CICS/IMS, DB2;
  • Familiarity with Endevor/ Changeman/ eGen;
  • Knowledge of middleware technologies such as MQseries and CFT;
  • Familiarity with specific languages and technologies, including Rexx, ISPF Macro, and Clists;
  • Proficiency in Batch scheduling and associated assets;
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodology and its practical implementation;
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends;
  • Possess an analytical mindset for problem-solving and troubleshooting;
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports documenting activities and findings;
  • Able to update existing documentation and procedures as needed;
  • Strong teamwork skills, collaborating effectively with colleagues and other teams;
  • Ability to maintain focus on assigned tasks and prioritize work effectively;
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide constructive feedback;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; French language skills are a plus.
     

Responsibilities

  • Execute requested actions based on defined procedures and processes, including deploying components and managing releases;
  • Update, deploy, and maintain Batch scheduling assets to ensure efficient processing;
  • Control and report on global Mainframe processes, including file processing;
  • Coordinate actions with other teams, particularly Paris OPS and worldwide application development teams;
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer with Paris OPS teams, sharing insights and best practices;
  • Assist in defining and improving procedures and processes required for the team's operations;
  • Contribute to regular activity reporting and KPI calculation to monitor performance;
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
