A California-based start-up is on a quest to provide the next generation of medical grade sleep diagnostics, with the help of a health platform.

Our new client needs a Back-End Python Developer to support the software team and take development ownership in an ambitious and fast-growing work environment.

This company, a spin-off from a global leading research center in nanoelectronics and digital technology, wants to bring innovative medical devices to the sleep market. They are currently developing a first product that will help improve the health and quality of life of patients around the world.

Job requirements

  • 2+ years professional development experience, with an in-depth knowledge of Python;
  • Skilled in developing clean and reusable code;
  • Strong development skills in at least one other programming language (C, C++, Java, JavaScript);
  • Good understanding of synchronous (e.g REST) and asynchronous communication protocols (MQTT, AMQP);
  • Skilled in defining data models and working with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB);
  • Good understanding and know-how of AWS services (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, RSDS, EC2, etc), having worked with at least a subset of these services;
  • Team player attitude and attention to details;
  • Responsible, with an ambition to achieve your mission;
  • A good combination of rigor, creativity and excellent communication skills;
  • Good level of English.


  • Develop and maintain high quality (mainly Python) code and unit test code;
  • Design software sub-components and communication protocols;
  • Define and maintain subsystem documentation: requirements, design and verification specifications;
  • Define code deployment and delivery approaches and maintain the CI/CD pipeline;
  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of the subsystem;
  • Work closely with bio medical engineers in implementing advanced algorithms;
  • Work closely with other technology groups to support knowledge transfer and jointly develop a state-of-the-art medical diagnostic platform.
