About the project

We are looking for experienced IT professionals to join our team as Senior Testers for our client, the UK's largest online car retailer. Their modern toolchain consists of a fully serverless event-driven infrastructure mainly developed in TypeScript and Python. The front-end is built with React.

You will be part of a cross-functional team with Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts and a Product Manager. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be the team's quality expert and will mentor others. Ideally, you will encounter few issues. However, in the event that you do, you can contribute to the team by reviewing the processes and tools being used and providing guidance to the engineering team to prevent similar issues in the future.
 

Job requirements

  • Familiar with exploratory testing and able to discuss when to use it, when not to use it and alternative testing strategies;
  • Strong possession of a developed quality mindset in your previous teams;
  • Ability to understand risk and help others quantify the risk of proposed changes;
  • An understanding of observability, experimentation and operational quality to enable rapid feedback pathways;
  • Teaching, mentoring or coaching experience;
  • Experience of working in a fast paced agile environment and a good understanding of how software products are built;
  • Team player; you can give and receive feedback and understand that team health and practices are key to high performance;
  • Possess a growth mindset and be eager to learn;
  • Ideally you'll have worked with engineers using TDD;
  • Good English skills.
