Pentalog is searching for a Senior Software Engineer.

Our client and partner for 3 years now, owns a top user reviews-based website, dedicated for leisure and travel. For this position, you will work with other engineers, as you deliver code to production every few days, at a daily release cycle, while taking responsibility for its quality.
 

Job requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience of commercial software development;
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience;
  • Ability to design and query relational databases;
  • Knowledge of Java and Python;
  • Solid experience developing complex ETL processes, including defining SLAs, performance measurements and monitoring;
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and big data.
  • Familiarity with Linux;
  • Willingness and ability to take on new technologies;
  • Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions;
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to write clean, correct and efficient code;
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sense of ownership, urgency and pride in your work;
  • Very good communication and English language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Code alongside your colleagues, in order to meet the daily release cycle;
  • Develop platforms and tools for managing SEM, display and social accounts (including partner API integrations, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, feed generation and more);
  • Work closely with our data scientists and analysts to produce predictive algorithms for bidding in real time;
  • Offer daily operational support, as part of a team that owns these crucial systems;
  • Be in charge of all software engineering aspects, from design to implementation, QA and maintenance;
  • Operate across an evolving technology stack (Java, SQL Server, Big Query, Hive etc.);
  • Work alongside other engineering groups located around the world.

Extra skills

Previous SEM and front-end development experience would be beneficial.
