The challenge

When Europe’s leading social trading platform sought to boost acceleration and extend their team, they looked to IT Outsourcing.

While working towards European expansion, wikifolio.com sought to improve existing features and add new modules to the platform – all while keeping an already existing product on the market.

To focus on providing top quality service and growing the business, the company sought the help of a dedicated team at Pentalog.

The solution

The collaboration kicked off with a Product Discovery mission in which the Product Owner visited the wikifolio.com office. Afterwards, the client traveled to Pentalog’s delivery center in Cluj. During these visits, Pentalog was able to gain insight into the client’s needs and together, both teams were able to hold skill mapping sessions as well as define team structure and create a technological roadmap.

Pentalog then assorted a dedicated development team of 10 to fit the client’s own in-house capacity. This included 1 Scrum Master1 Product Owner, 5 developers, 2 QAs, and 1 Project Director.

Alongside one another, the teams made improvements on existing platform features that provided users with more in-depth community insight such as:

  • Trading Sentiment
  • Featured Comments
  • Best Performing Portfolios
  • Real-Time Prices
  • Key Performance
  • Top Trades
  • Popularity Indicators for Stocks

In addition, a completely new benchmark module was added for users to compare the performance of their own portfolios with important indexes on the market.

Working on both the Front & Back-End, both wikifolio.com and Pentalog were able to structure content on the platform to make it more user-friendly while supporting an influx of new customers.

The results

“They [wikifolio.com] knew well that growth is essential to remain competitive and to consistently meet users’ expectations. They’re a startup and they too, are agile. The partnership is running smoothly and there is consistent, open communication all around.” – Andreea Tatarus, Product Owner

In the end, the client commended Pentalog on the robust quality of our processes, collaboration framework and utilization of agile methodologies.

In 2018, the company took home 2nd place in Austria’s Best Startup competition.
