He joined MADE.com nine years after the online furniture seller was founded, first as the Director of Engineering, and two years later, as the Chief Technology Officer.

With a career spanning successful startups, medium-size businesses and very large corporations, Engels has designed and built large-scale mission-critical systems for e-commerce and online marketing.
