Martin Fröhlich is VP Engineering and Co-Tribe Lead at SumUp, a global financial services company on a mission to empower small merchants all over the world. He leads SumUp’s Growth Tribe engineering, a team of 40 engineers that builds platforms and experiences for the new merchants’ early user journey – marketing website, shop, logistics platform, and onboarding experience among others.

Martin started his career in business, and began developing software professionally in his thirties. He gained experience in a wide range of domains – from music technology over EdTech to FinTech – and he’s passionate about shaping and evolving autonomous, people-first socio-technical systems that deliver business value.
