Working alongside a team of software developers who are currently working on an internal CRM which was to be built as a web application. The current system was built as a desktop application but for more of a slick, streamlined system they wanted it to go web based.
My role at Netguides was to build and support builds of websites for holiday parks across the UK, this would also include integration of their own custom built booking system. I would also help manage the support desk with tickets coming in from customers requiring help with the system or looking for system changes.
The PD Group is one of three divisions of which I work for two, The PD Group and Web Directions. My main focus has been creating E-Commerce websites for Indian and Chinese Takeaway Restaraunts using WordPress. In my time at The PD Group, I feel I have come a long way with regards to my personal attributes such as; the way I work and how I approach tasks, Time Management and even Self Management. Day to day tasks would include making amends to websites requested by either my colleagues or the clients themselves. I would also drop into the design side of things by helping create logos for new companies, business cards, letterheads and promotional flyers. Server Management has been an ongoing but largely important task in my time at The PD Group, with over 300 websites on one server, having to split these into three new servers and maintaining that all websites are still in working order. I’ve learn’t so much as a developer and a person in my time at The PD Group.
Having worked as a Developer for LVC between September 2014 and November 2015, I built bespoke websites according to client specifications and designs, or alternatively with templates and themes. My knowledge allowed me to adapt to different mediums and libraries, as well as plan and develop in-depth structures and wireframes. These skills ensured that I provided the most suitable and unique solution to a project. I also worked closely with the design team to optimise their concepts, and gave input into new ideas for future projects.
Working as part of a growing and developing design team, creating websites, email marketing campaigns, SEO campaigns and social media management. Creating websites for various clients with varying specifications, regular meetings with clients and drawn up specifications to design from. Once the site has been fully designed, I would keep in regular contact with the client with technical support for their website.
I gained a placement with Vodafone UK where I worked across various departments to design and implement a mobile application culminating with a presentation to a cross-section of the senior management team.
