My role at SLB so far has been a new role within the business so it has involved building the brand strat- egy to be in-line with the core business values and objectives, implementing new processes with brand guidelines, building relationships with events and publications and launching products into the Con- struction and Architecture industry. This has been an exciting opportunity to . work with a rapidly growing business and an extensive introduction to the world of mail and parcelboxes
My time at Invacare was only a short period but I felt like I had achieved so much, from managing projects involving product launches to product development and liaising with group product managers across Europe and research and development teams to understand products for creating marketing collateral.
Understanding the needs of the European markets and taking into consideration the local identities is vital when planning photo shoots and creating imagery as they will be launched in several markets. I manage external agencies in line with the EMEA budget and to meet tight deadlines while planning and implementing product launches inline with the group product manager's brief. I also enjoy working within a team to identify, prioritise and manage workloads.
My role at BBI Healthcare has been fast-paced with a wide variety of Marketing. I managed all social media activity such as running competitions for our Gluco brand, where we were the headline sponsors for the welsh OCR event iNVNCBL, I coordinated for our team to attend each event to hand out samples and support where needed. I was fortunate enough to attend some key meetings with buyers, at big retailers with our I sales team to present the upcoming marketing plans for each brand, and this was a great experience as was able to get first-hand feedback from the buyers and work with them to support the brand being sold in store and online.
One of my favourite experiences at BBI so far was being heavily involved in the rebrand of our most significant brand Balance Activ, this involved coordinating several external agencies together with weekly conference calls and monthly meetings in London. The rebrand included a substantial budget for digital and PR, and this was a big eye-opener to the world of PR.
My role also included many tasks such as organising trade shows and providing artwork for trade mag- azines online and offline and creating POS collateral. Undertaking competitor and industry research and creating presentations for the sales team. Liaising with Healthcare Professionals to manage the Ask The Expert online service and reporting all KPI figures to the Managing Director. Finally leading the PO tracker and reporting all marketing spend to the Managing Director.
Chromogenex Technology LTDDecember 2013 - December 2015
My role as Marketing Manager at Chromogenex gave me a wider range of responsibilities, beginning with managing all UK & EMEA marketing activities. I also organised and coordinated the company mar- keting events, trade shows and public exhibitions including presence at shows and the communication between booth builders, show organisers and vendors. I developed and managed content for internal and external communication, email newsletters, website content, developed press releases, public relations announcements and activities. Dealing with publications was a big part of my role, having to collate and action editorial for magazines, schedule advertising with multiple publications trade and consumer on an international basis and man- age advertising deadlines. Furthermore, I liaised with international distributors, UK and international customers for product information, marketing and branding requirements and brand collateral assistance while also liaising internally to keep abreast of product developments and customer motivation/prefer- ences.
Some admin parts of my role included writing website updates, stories and e-shots, generate Facebook stories and Tweets, connect with the industry, update client details on our websites using Wordpress and spreadsheet formats, analyse and develop weekly and monthly reports based on responses from adver- tising, website traffic and e-shots.
During this position, I worked on several company websites to improve them and make them more us- er-friendly, I also work a great deal on the social networking side of the Marketing while attending net- working events to market the company/products. Part of my role was also designing leaflets/business cards and various other marketing materials. This role was a very hands-on, active role which has given me the confidence to tackle any given thing that is given to me.
I became Acting Marketing Manager at Greenerdeal4u which was the sister company to PV Solar Solu- tions. My main responsibilities here were to market our main product the Dynamic Energy Panels, we also sold many other products such as Biomass Boilers, Kitchens, and Bathrooms, so there were various things there to keep me busy. The company has several websites which I helped build using a Content Management System called Joomla. It was my duty to ensure all sites are updated when needed and that they were all user-friendly and in working order. We regularly get requests from our contact forms so I would be the person to deal with those queries. I also do SEO for the websites using Google Analyt- ics and Webmaster tools to improve the ranking and number of views. Social networking was also part of my job, so I took care of Facebook and Twitter using a Social Media Management Dashboard called HootSuite.
Throughout my day I also designed leaflets, logos and brochures to market our products, for this I had to liaise with the company Director to discuss ideas .and layouts/designs, I then communicated with printing companies to try and negotiate affordable prices
* Primary duty was to develop a company website along with all social networks. * Office duties such as filing, photocopying and taking calls. * Experience of HTML and CSS while working on the website.
