Our client, a leading website that offers a dynamic platform for travel enthusiasts to share their adventures, is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Scientist to join their team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the metadata for millions of listings, including hotels, attractions, and restaurants, that form the foundation of our client’s platform. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with product and engineering teams to solve complex data challenges and significantly impact the accuracy and richness of our client’s travel database.
 

Job requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in creating and implementing machine learning models and algorithms on a large scale;
  • Skilled in Python, R, or another similar numerical/statistical programming language;
  • Proficient in SQL and capable of handling complex data queries;
  • Experienced with managing large datasets and addressing problems of data heterogeneity and uncertainty;
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field;
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define machine learning requirements and strategies;
  • Automate and optimize ETL pipelines for large-scale data processing;
  • Design, prototype, and maintain advanced machine learning models for enhancing POI (Points of Interest) data integration and accuracy;
  • Provide clear communication of technical progress and insights to stakeholders.
     

Extra skills

  • Experience with large Points of Interest databases and geospatial data;
  • Knowledge of LLMs, NLP techniques, and text embeddings;
  • Familiarity with vector databases.
